Thiess 75th Anniversary Reunion

Past and present Thiess employees gathered at Wivenhoe Dam to celebrate Thiess' 75th Anniversary Reunion last Sunday.

Tell assisted with the visual display by designing a large graphical timeline that chronicled the company’s milestones during the past 75 years.

Thiess Design Coordinator, Matthew Turk commented, "the timeline, which included photos and descriptions of projects from 1934 onwards, prompted plenty of reminiscing about old times with numerous stories shared."

Off and Racing!

by Clare Treston

Any ad that features a talking animal is good in my book, and especially a talking horse around Melbourne Cup time.

Bets on for this race – lucky the jockey had his Weetabix today!

The future of type?

by Gary Schmidt

As a typographer and someone who still insists on typing full words when texting, I find this a little strange: Fred Berenson, a research associate at New York University is undertaking a project to translate Melville’s opus, Moby Dick, entirely into… emoticons. Japanese emoji to be exact. No, seriously – why?
